Please work with us to help all of our patients by contacting us as early in the day as possible as by late morning our available appointments have usually been allocated and usually only emergency care is possible. We do not currently offer a walk in service, but all problems will be triaged (prioritised based on clinical need) by our team and help or advice will then be offered. We are available between the times listed here. We understand this is frustrating for you (it is frustrating for us too), however we subscribe to the NHS zero tolerance policy and if you are verbally abusive or raise your voice to any member of staff, regardless or their role or the reason for your frustration, it is highly likely we will remove you from our patient list and you will have to register with another GP practice. There are a limited number of healthcare professionals and an incredible demand from patients. Please be aware that the entire NHS, including all of our staff, has been under unprecedented workload. Your consideration of our limited resources and of other patients is very much appreciated. The only instance in which you should contact the practice with questions regarding the COVID vaccine is if you are over 80 years old or a shielding patient with a shielding letter. The helpline exists to allow GPs to deal with patients who are unwell and needing medical care. If you have a question regarding the COVID-19 vaccine then please look on the NHS Inform website or use the national helpline (08) which is open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. It is highly likely that this more efficient method of delivering safe care will continue for the foreseeable future. In particular all healthcare professionals have moved to managing most problems without the need for a face to face consultation instead consulting either via telephone or via video link using NHS Attend Anywhere. In Scotland pharmacists are able to provide advice for a broad range of minor ailments and will direct you to your GP if required. In both cases you will be asked for more information to allow us to determine which member of the team is best suited to help you and to help identify any problems, such as medical emergencies, requiring redirection to another service such as A&E.įor minor ailments, your GP may not be the best first point of contact.
